Jordan’s court of appeal has upheld a decision to jail two Islamist MPs after they paid condolences to the family of Al-Qaeda’s slain frontman Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, but it reduced their sentence.On August 6, the state security court sentenced Islamic Action Front MPs Abu Fares to two years in jail and Abu Suqqar to 18 months. A third IAF MP, Jaafar Horani, was acquitted.The trio had been charged with fuelling national discord and inciting sectarianism by their act, after Zarqawi was killed by a US air strike in Iraq.
