US President George W. Bush was to meet Tuesday with Sudan rebel leader Minni Minawi to discuss efforts to implement a fragile deal to end the conflict in the country’s troubled Darfur region. The two will discuss “how to broaden support for the Darfur Peace Agreement, facilitate its implementation, and ensure the expeditious deployment of UN peacekeepers to Darfur,” said Bush spokesman Tony Snow.
