The US Congress, in a rare move, has issued a subpoena to the Pentagon, demanding documents on a key witness in the Abu Ghraib scandal, who claims retaliation for exposing abuse in the infamous US-run Iraqi prison, officials said. The legal request, delivered to the Defense Department at the end of last week, deals with Army Sergeant Samuel Provance, who in testimony before the House Government Reform Committee last February said that top military brass was well aware of humiliating and degrading treatment of inmates at Abu Ghraib.
