Afghan President Hamid Karzai has hailed the completion of the first phase of a drive to disarm militia, as experts gathered to discuss further ways to quell violence in his war-ravaged country. “Four and a half years ago, our people were captives to international terrorist groups and were robbed of their basic rights,” Karzai said on Wednesday. “Afghanistan is no longer a haven for international terrorists.
