A tired-sounding Osama bin Laden praised slain Iraq insurgent Abu Musab al-Zarqawi in an audiotape released Friday, and a Web site later said the terror leader would soon post a message about the fight by Islamic militants in Somalia and Iraq. The 19-minute statement on the Web — during which bin Laden once again conspicuously avoided showing his face — was the latest in a string of audiotapes from the al-Qaida leader this year. The Internet messages have been strong on propaganda, but have said little about how the terror network will continue its “jihad” against the United States — raising questions about bin Laden’s level of control.
