Japan split on Iraq mission

Voters remain split on Japan’s historic military mission winding down in Iraq, with most believing the pullout should have been ordered earlier, a poll has said. Forty-nine percent of Japanese voters said they appreciated the overall Iraq mission, while 35 percent said in retrospect the deployment was not a good decision, said the survey by the Asahi Shimbun.
