A bomb detonated Tuesday morning killed five security personnel and injured a sixth as they escorted a convoy of teachers to school in Thailand’s troubled southern province of Yala, police said. The militants ambushed a group of security guards on the way to pick up teachers and take them to school, blew up their truck, and then shot them. The militants seized the guards’ weapons and fled. The bomb exploded in Raman district of Yala, 760 kilometres south of Bangkok, said a Raman police officer contacted by telephone. Full Story
