South Korean Foreign Minister Ban Ki-Moon has urged China to use its influence with North Korea to persuade the Stalinist state not to go ahead with the test firing of a ballistic missile. Ban made the request in a meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing in Beijing that was held to discuss the stand-offs over Pyongyang’s nuclear and missile programs, according to an official at the South Korean embassy.
