Rights group: Sudanese militias kill hundreds in Chad

Anarchy in Sudan’s Darfur is spilling over into Chad, where rival armed groups supported by the governments of Chad and Sudan are committing serious crimes against civilians, a human rights group said Thursday. Hundreds of Chadian civilians have been killed in recent weeks in cross-border attacks by Sudanese militias known as janjaweed and allied Chadian fighters, and more than 50,000 have been displaced, New York-based Human Rights Watch said in “Violence Beyond Borders: The Human Rights Crisis in Eastern Chad.” Full Story
