Italian police arrested at least 45 people in an anti-Mafia crackdown in Sicily on Tuesday, including top bosses who had allegedly been in touch with Bernardo Provenzano, the reputed No. 1 boss picked up earlier this year. Police said in a statement that the operation, which involved some 500 police officers, dismantled the top tiers of Palermo syndicates.
