Gov’t dispatches elite security unit to 3 Brazilian prisons

The Brazilian government on Sunday sent elite troops of the National Public Security Force to the southeastern state of Espiritu Santo, where riots at three prisons left two dead, one of whom was decapitated, officials said. About 70 agents of the special force made up of members of elite police forces from all around the country and created to form a quick-reaction unit to deal with law enforcement emergencies, arrived on Sunday in Vitoria, the state capital.
