A soldier and two communist guerrillas have been killed in a battle in the central Philippines, the military said. An Army Scout Ranger unit clashed with a five-member New People’s Army (NPA) patrol at dawn in a village near Buhi town on the Bicol peninsula, leaving a ranger and two NPA rebels dead, a military report said. The soldiers recovered two rifles and four grenades after the three surviving members of the guerrilla unit withdrew, it added. Full Story
