Sixty Taliban, 16 civilians dead: Afghan governor
U.S.-led forces in Afghanistan killed more than 60 Taliban fighters in attacks on their strongholds in the south on Monday, the governor of Kandahar province said. Sixteen civilians were also killed in the ground and air assault in Panjwai district of Kandahar, he said. The offensive came after several days of some of the heaviest Taliban attacks since they were ousted in 2001. Full Story
