Trials start against 4 over Bali bombings
Four people suspected of being Islamic militants went on trial Tuesday, accused in the bombings in 2005 on the resort island of Bali. A prosecutor said the attacks had been aimed at avenging the deaths of Muslims killed in Iraq and Afghanistan. Security was tight at the trials, the first to be held over the triple suicide bombings that killed 19 people and were blamed on Jemaah Islamiyah, a Southeast Asian terrorist group sometimes linked to Al Qaeda.
