Keeping isolated settlements in the occupied West Bank is endangering Israel, incoming prime minister Ehud Olmert warned. “The continuation of the scattered Jewish settlements in Judea and Samaria (West Bank) is endangering us,” Olmert told lawmakers Thursday at the start of a session of parliament where MPs were to approve his new government. Olmert has pledged to fix the borders of Israel during his term of office as part of a so-called convergence plan which will see Israel uproot some 7,000 settlers from the West Bank. Full Story
