US, UN intervene to seek rescue of Darfur peace pact
Talks to end the bloody war raging in Sudan’s Darfur region continued after the African Union pushed back a deadline for a crucial peace deal, while a senior US diplomat was dispatched to break the deadlock between rival sides.
