Over 40,000 birds culled in Pakistan following bird flu outbreak at 13 farms
Authorities in Pakistan here have culled over 40,000 birds following outbreak of deadly H5N1 avian influenza strains at about 13 poultry farms on the outskirts of the capital city. Official sources told KUNA on Sunday that blood samples tested at the National Reference Laboratory (NRL) have confirmed the presence of bird flu at about 13 poultry farms in Tarlai and Alipur Farash areas, only 10 kilometers from here.
