Venezuela’s foreign minister said Tuesday that there is a risk that the United States could launch a military attack on his country, but it hasn’t done so because conditions weren’t right. Ali Rodriguez, who is in Cuba for treatment of a knee problem, said U.S. involvement in Iraq and other problems in the Mideast have prevented an American strike on Venezuela, where President Hugo Chavez’s government controls vast oil reserves.
