Investigations into a global underground nuclear proliferation network headed by Pakistan’s disgraced scientist Abdul Qadeer Khan have not been abandoned, a top US diplomat said. Pakistan is at the centre of probes into a nuclear black market run by Khan, who confessed in 2004 to passing atomic secrets to Iran, Libya and North Korea. Pakistan has so far has not allowed any foreign organisation or individual to question Khan, who was pardoned by military ruler General Pervez Musharraf and now lives effectively under house arrest.
