A suicide bomber targeting a Canadian convoy in Afghanistan’s main southern city wounded seven civilians, the latest in a series of attacks indicating that Taliban-led insurgents are intensifying their campaign. The attacker while charging towards a Canadian convoy detonated the explosives-filled car prematurely when an overtaking taxi clipped his vehicle in Kandahar city, district police chief Colonel Shir Shah told AFP on Thursday. “The target was a Canadian convoy,” Shah said.
