ASIA: Nepal’s Supreme Court freed two senior opposition leaders on Thursday, ruling that the royal government had no grounds to keep them in custody. Pradeep Giri and Bimalendra Nidhi of the Nepali Congress Democratic party were freed by the court nearly two months after they were arrested in a government crackdown on rival politicians and activists.
