Saudi authorities announced Tuesday that four of the five militants killed during police raids a day earlier in the Saudi capital included the kingdom’s top terrorist and three other members of the al-Qaida terror group. Two of the four militants took part in Friday’s foiled suicide attack on the eastern Saudi Arabian Abqaiq oil processing complex, the Interior Ministry said in a statement carried by the official Saudi Press Agency. The announcement was also the first by Saudi authorities that some of the terrorists had escaped the scene of the attack on the Abqaiq facility, which processes about two-thirds of the country’s oil before it is exported.
