Taliban rebels attacked a police checkpost in insurgency-hit southern Afghanistan, killing three policemen, while a rocket was fired at a top hotel in the capital, officials said. The militants’ attack on police in southern Helmand province just after midnight sparked a half-hour gun battle, provincial spokesman Haji Mohaydin Khan told AFP on Sunday. “Three police were killed in the half-an-hour exchange of fire with Taliban,” he said. “We have no information on the casualties of the enemy side.” Full Story
