A US soldier was killed when his patrol came under attack in central Afghanistan while a militant was killed in a separate incident in the east, the military said. The soldier, whose name was not released, was the second to die in hostile fire in Afghanistan this year, according to official figures. The soldier was killed when “enemy forces” opened fired on the patrol in Laghman province, near the capital Kabul, the US-led coalition said on Monday. Full Story
