Maoist rebels in Nepal attacked multiple targets in a town close to the border with India, clashing with security forces, local journalists and witnesses said. The attack late on Friday was the second large-scale assault by the rebels in four days, after at least 15 people were killed when around 4,000 rebels stormed government buildings in Palpa district west of Kathmandu late Tuesday. “I am hearing gunfire and regular bomb blasts. The target is the police training centre,” said Bhola Mahat, local coordinator for the Informal Sector Service Centre (INSEC), a human rights organization in the town of Nepalganj. Full Story
