Ex-prisoner accused of recruiting for terrorism
A prosecutor demanded a three-year term on Tuesday for man who allegedly tried to obtain weapons while in jail for threatening an MP. Bilal L. is accused of approaching fellow prisoners in a bid to obtain weapons and explosives. He is further accused of trying to recruit fellow prisoners to carry out attacks on the “enemies of Islam”. L. was in jail after pleading guilty in February 2005 to threatening MP Geert Wilders over the internet. A court sentenced him to 10 months, the last six of which were suspended, for that offence.
