British troops ‘will be targets in Afghanistan’
British troops being sent to lawless Helmand province in southern Afghanistan will “stir up a hornets’ nest” and provide “plenty more targets” for insurgents, says a senior officer in the advance party. In an interview with the Sunday Telegraph, Lt Col Henry Worsley described security in Helmand as “pretty poor” and said there was “no military power” there. The Government says it is sending 3,300 British soldiers to the restive region in the next few months. Full Story
