A United Nations official said Monday that an Iraqi girl who died earlier this month in Kurdistan was a victim of the deadly H5N1 strain of bird flu. The official, who refused to be named because of the sensitivity of the issue, said testing done at a U.S. Navy laboratory in Cairo confirmed the first known case of the deadly virus in Iraq.
