Former president and Nobel Peace Prize winner Oscar Arias was heavily favored in his bid for Costa Rica’s presidency in a poll published Tuesday. Arias, of the opposition National Liberation Party, was favored by 45.5 percent of those surveyed in the poll carried by the daily newspaper Al Dia. In a distant second place was Otton Solis of the Citizens Action party, preferred by 24.1 percent of respondents, and in third was Otto Guevara, of the Libertarian Movement, with 15 percent.
