Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has met the US defence secretary in Washington amid continuing tensions over a US missile strike in Pakistan. US Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld said the meeting underlined the importance of the relationship between the two countries. Mr Aziz has publicly condemned the US missile attack near the Afghan border which killed at least 18 people. The missile strike, carried out on 13 January, led to big anti-US protests. Mr Aziz, who is due to meet US President George W Bush on Tuesday, said Pakistan was committed to fighting terrorism. Full Story
