Two deminers working for a Danish charity have reportedly been kidnapped in Sri Lanka’s strife-torn northern Jaffna peninsula. Thambiah Tharmasiri and Narayanamoorthy Kandeepan, who worked for the Danish Demining Group (DDG), were abducted shortly after 5.20am local time on Wednesday while they were on their way to work in Kuppilan, close to the High Security Zone near the Palaly Military Base, the pro-rebel Tamil Net website reported.
