A court in Tbilisi, Georgia has sentenced
Vladimir Arutunian to life in prison for the attempted assassination of US President George Bush during his visit there last year. Arutunian was found guilty of trying to kill Bush by throwing a hand grenade into a crowd of thousands of people who had gathered in Tbilisi’s Freedom Square to hear Bush and his Georgian counterpart, Mikhail Saakashvili, speak on 10 May.
