Two years after the looting of an armoury in Narathiwat that left four soldiers dead and set off a wave of violent attacks in the deep South, security forces have managed to retrieve only six guns and have now ordered extra-tight security at the site to prevent another raid. The army lost 413 guns in the raid, including 380 M-16 rifles, two M-60 machine guns and 24 11mm pistols when militants stormed the 4th development battalion attached to Narathiwat Ratchanakharin army camp in Cho Airong district on Jan 4, 2004.
