Voters Attack 2 Polling Stations in Caucasus
Voters unhappy with the results of the first municipal elections in Karachayevo-Cherkessia torched one polling station and trashed another, police said. As members of local election commissions began revealing preliminary results Monday, men who supported the losing candidate in the Adyge-Khabl district formed a convoy of cars and drove through villages, brandishing sticks to frighten their ethnic rivals, Russians and Cherkessians, the press office of the regional Interior Ministry said.
