UN envoy heads for Bolivia polls
The United Nations is sending a senior diplomat to Bolivia, as a show of support for Sunday’s election. Angela Kane is due to meet interim President Eduardo Rodriguez as the country goes to the polls for the first time since the fall of Carlos Mesa. Nationwide protests forced Mr Mesa to resign in June. Indigenous leader Evo Morales held a small poll lead over ex-President Jorge “Tuto” Quiroga when the two ended their campaigns on Wednesday. Full Story
