The Colombian attorney general’s office ordered Wednesday that a mayor-elect and three police officers accused of being part of a band that stole fuel from state-run pipelines be held without bail. Four other persons nabbed by police in the same case, were also denied bail in accord with a decision made in Bogota by the counter-terrorism division of the AG’s office, which is also investigating the alleged involvement of paramilitary groups in the case.
