Terrorist groups are deploying new tactics which will pose a greater challenge to the international community in fighting terrorism, a United States official said on Monday. Organizations, such as al-Qaeda and Jemaah Islamiah, were now using new methods to launch their attacks, said Henry Crumpton, coordinator for counterterrorism at the Department of State of the United States who was on a one-day visit to Malaysia. Some of these organizations were splintering and becoming smaller, but the weapons they used were more powerful, Crumpton told reporters at Malaysia’s administrative center Putrajaya. Full Story
