Taliban insurgents in Afghanistan killed a district chief and a school headmaster in the volatile southern province of Kandahar, a government spokesman said on Wednesday. The head of Arghandab district was gunned down in a mosque late on Tuesday evening and Haji Abdul Lalai, a headmaster in another district, was shot dead earlier in the day, said interior ministry spokesman Yousuf Stanezai.
