A Mexican judge freed an environmentalist Thursday whose arrest last year on charges of killing a rancher’s son sparked international protests. Felipe Arreaga, a member of the Organization of Peasant Ecologists, was arrested in November for allegedly killing Abel Bautista in 1998. His supporters said the evidence was falsified. Judge Ricardo Salinas ruled there was insufficient evidence and dismissed all charges against Arreaga at a court in the western resort city of Zihuatanejo.Full Story
