Malaysia said on Wednesday it would allow Thai military officials to interview 131 Muslims who fled their homes in Thailand’s troubled south two weeks ago and crossed the border to seek refuge in their Muslim neighbour. The group is the largest to come to Malaysia seeking protection from violence in southern Thailand, where tensions between many Muslims and Thai security forces have flared since January 2004, taking a toll of more than 800 dead. Malaysia has said it would not return the Thais until it determined the reasons for their flight, which Thailand says was organised by militants in a bid to internationalise the unrest.Full Story
