Former police officers are coming out of retirement to help Britain’s stretched forces in the fight against terrorism, a newspaper said. The Guardian said 210 ex-officers were now back in the service to help out as Britain tries to close the net on Islamist extremism in the wake of the July London bombings. RIG Police Recruit, which helps recruit officers, said there had been a 40-percent rise across Britain in demand for former officers since the July 7 attacks on London’s transport system which left 56 people dead.
