A roadside bomb exploded Thursday near a U.S. military vehicle near the Afghan border with Pakistan, killing an American service member and wounding another, the military said. An Afghan soldier also was wounded, the statement said. The attack occurred near a base at Urgun in Paktika province. The death brings to 174 the number of U.S. troops killed in and around Afghanistan since Operation Enduring Freedom began in 2001. Full Story
