Afghan President Hamid Karzai said Friday that his government was determined to gain control over the whole country but would still require years of international support as Afghanistan emerges from decades of civil war. On the second day of Karzai’s visit to Italy, where he met Premier Silvio Berlusconi and other officials, Karzai said heavy weapons in Afghanistan were “almost completely recovered,” but added that “it will take a bit to complete the disarmament of the country.” Full Story
