US Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman General Richard Myers said he expected bloodshed to increase in Iraq but that the country would remain on course for elections this year. “Every major milestone that has been set by Iraqi people and with the help of the coalition, with the help of the United Nations and now with the help of NATO…has been met,” Myers told reporters in Berlin. “That will continue, in my belief, to happen. We should see a draft constitution by the end of this month. A constitutional referendum is planned for the middle of October and then (national) elections in December.
