Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf said his military has “broken the back” of Al-Qaeda and reduced the terrorist organisation to small isolated bands hiding in the mountains on the Pakistan-Afghan border. Musharraf, on the first visit to Australia by a Pakistani head of state, called on the United States to help undermine one of the root causes of terrorism by resolving the Palestinian issue.
