A car bomb exploded several hundred yards from an armed convoy carrying a U.S. diplomat in Baghdad on Monday, but the official was not hurt, the U.S. Embassy said.A U.S. Embassy official, speaking on condition of anonymity for security reasons, did not identify the diplomat in the convoy at the time of the 2 p.m. blast.
