Mauritania accused Islamic extremists from Algeria suspected of links with Al-Qaeda of carrying out a dawn attack on a desert military base in which it said 15 soldiers and five attackers were killed. Defence Minister Baba Ould Sidi told a news conference in the north African country’s capital that 15 Mauritanian soldiers had been killed and 17 injured in the assault which took place on Saturday against the base, while two other soldiers were listed as missing.Full Story
