Australia’s top Muslim cleric says he has been told by Iraqi tribal leaders that Australian hostage Douglas Wood has been moved to a safer location by his captors and he should return to Baghdad to try and secure Wood’s freedom. Australian Muslim leader Sheikh Taj al-Din al-Hilali recently went to Baghdad to try and free Wood and has offered himself to Iraqi militants in exchange for Wood. A spokesman for al-Hilali told Reuters on Sunday the Australian mufti, who is still in the Middle East, had been told Wood was moved overnight to a safer place. Full Story
