Lebanon’s caretaker prime minister, Omar Karami, is expected to announce a new cabinet by early next week, political sources said Thursday, after weeks of wrangling that make a delay to May polls almost inevitable. The sources said Karami would announce his cabinet by Monday, six weeks after his previous pro-Syrian government was forced to quit in the face of huge anti-Syrian demonstrations.
