Zimbabwe put police on high alert on Tuesday for possible protests as opposition anger simmered over parliamentary elections it charged were rigged by President Robert Mugabe’s ruling party. Mugabe’s ZANU-PF posted a sweeping victory against the main opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) last week, drawing charges of rigging from both the MDC and several Western powers.
